October 2018 Newsletter

Dear Friends of the Geneseo School District,

It’s an honor for me to begin my first year as the Executive Director of the Geneseo Education Foundation.  For over 25 years businesses and residents have generously donated to GEF, formerly known as the Geneseo Endowment for Excellence in Education.  Last year alone, GEF awarded over 50 grants across the district, including a $125,000 grant towards Project Leaf with added 21st Century Learning Environments.  These grants cover a wide range of needs:  technology updates, teacher training, field trips, literature, to name just a few.  We continually strive as a board to enhance the educational experiences of our students.  During the past 25 years, the foundation has granted over $2,000,000 to supplement the school district’s budget.

As parents, teachers, administrators, and community members, we want our schools to be the best.  It has been shown that student achievement is highest when there are strong partnerships between families, schools, and the community.  Our entire community benefits from the rewards of successful schools.

We look forward to another successful year with your help.  The foundation is funded solely by the generosity of citizens.  We are fortunate to live in a community where people are very giving of their time and financial support.  Please join the GEF Board, who earnestly join me to fulfill the Foundation’s mission to enhance and enrich the curriculums in the Geneseo School District.  Remember, because the Foundation is a 501c(3) non profit organization, all donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for your continued support of students and staff of Geneseo Schools through your donations to the Geneseo Education Foundation!
